The State of Florida is a state in the southeastern United States. Florida is situated mostly on a large peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida. It extends to the northwest into a panhandle, extending along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State but severe weather is a common occurrence in the state. It is bordered on the north by the states of Georgia and Alabama, and on the west, at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama.
 
Seminole is a city in Pinellas county, Florida in United States. The population was 10,890 at the 2000 census and as of 2004, the population recorded by the census bureau was 18,226. It is surrounded by Pinellas county enclaves in all directions. Its closest neighbors are Ridgecrest to the northwest, Largo to the north, Pinellas Park to the east and the Gulf beach communities to the west. According to the United States census bureau, the city has a total area of 7.0 square kilometers of which 6.4 square kilometers of it is land and 0.6 square kilometers is water.
 
As of the census of 2000, there were 10,890 people, 5,989 households, and 2,701 families residing in the city. There were 7,297 housing units at an average density of 1,140.6 per square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 11.8 percent under the age of 18, 3.8 percent from 18 to 24, 19.5 percent from 25 to 44, 21.3 percent from 45 to 64 and 43.6 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 59 years. For every 100 females there were 76.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 72.3 males.

The city is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Florida, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
